Picking the Right Shade
For best results, choose a color within 1-2 shades of your current color. You cannot lighten previously colored hair by adding more color on top. If you have colored hair, always match your current shade or go darker. Our permanent color kits may lighten virgin hair up to 2 levels, but may not achieve the desired lightness and could turn brassy.

Part hair into 4 sections and apply PROTECT 1 gel along your hairline.
Mix COLOR 2 pigment with the ACTIVATE 3 developer. Saturate each section with color and process for 35 mins (45 mins for grays).

For best results, you should get 2 boxes for medium length to long hair, especially if it is thick. This ensures that each strand is fully saturated. If you have long hair, but only plan to touch up your roots, then one box should suffice.
