How to achieve a salon-style blowout at home
We’re spending a lot of time indoors and away from our favorite hairdresser these days. Some say that the best way to keep from going stir-crazy is to maintain as much normalcy as possible, and if your normal includes salon-fresh hair, we’re here to help.
Step One: Spray Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray evenly throughout damp hair, section by section making sure to coat every strand. Comb through for even distribution. This will help you achieve salon-like smoothness and shine, while keeping frizz at bay.
Step Two: Grab your blow dryer with concentrator nozzle and give your hair a rough dry. You will want to remove about 75% of the moisture for an easier blowout. Hair is most susceptible when wet so removing as much water from the hair before you go in with a brush will prevent damage and breakage. This smoothing spray is heat-activated and also provides heat-protection up to 450 degrees and will help seal in the proteins and penetrate the cuticle for smoothest results.
PRO TIP: Use low to medium heat
Step Three: Section off your hair, grab a round brush or paddle brush & your blow dryer. Starting at the top of the hair, by the scalp, place your hair over the brush and while pulling the brush down the hair, follow with your blow dryer, smoothing as you go. Make sure to point the concentrator nozzle in a downward direction so you don’t rough up the cuticle and cause frizz.
PRO TIP: Use the concentrator nozzle, this it helps to add smoothness
Step Four: To add volume and lift to the top of the head, or the crown area, lift hair up off the scalp while blow drying to encourage volume. You can also pull the hair forward while blow drying, going against your natural growth pattern to encourage lift. Follow the motion with your blow dryer so you set style in place.
Step 5: You're ready for your living room tour, your Zoom happy hour and your Netflix Marathon.
